Nature Walk, 2023

We set out by five pickup trucks, a car and four two-wheelers at 10:30 a.m. on 13th October, 2023, spent the whole day for the programme and got back at 3 in the evening. We took a walk into an area which was once a thick forest until 2017, taught the students about the importance of forest and wildlife. They were instructed not to cut trees wastefully, never to engage themselves in hunting birds but rather to take care of young trees planted along the roadside and to take part in afforestation whenever possible. We also visited helipad on the way back and students picked up trash in the area. The students were served light refreshment around noon and a meal in the evening before embarking on our trip back home.

The students enjoyed the walk in general and that is a success in itself. They took in what they have learnt as to how forests and wildlife play a vital role for sustenance of human life and the necessity of forest conservation. Picking up litter in and around the helipad has an immediate outcome in terms of creation of clean environment.

102 students participated in this venture.
